Moving FreeBSD hard drive to new computer - won't boot
The computer in which I had my FreeBSD system got fried. The hard drive still works. I put it into another computer and I get FreeBSD's verion of grub. Once the kernel loads it says it can't find the root partition. I get to a screen that tells me
ufs:asd94-2x (something like that)
and I need to put the right one in. Under a normal boot I can't type there. Under a safe mode boot I can type it in. It then tells me to fsck the drive and that doesn't work because it can't find root.
So what am I doing wrong?
Thanks!
