I burned disk1 and disk2 of FreeBSD 5.3, I pop in the first disk and reboot. It brings me to a black looking dos scree (note that my keyboard works here) and it lets me pick a option from about 8. I tried the first option (run freebsd or whatever) and it brings me to a setup screen. To pick what kind of install to do, and this is where my keyboard does not work. The numlock scroll lock and capslock lights turn off and on when I press them. But EVERY other button does not. I rebotted 2 more times to try the second option (start freebsd aspi or something disabled) still doesnt work, tried the third (run freebsd in safe mode) still dosent work.

USB keyboard by chance? Try unplugging it and plugging it back in, once you're in the installer. I don't have a USB keyboard (and this is why), but maybe it just needs a kickstart.
