I live in Cuba, and official download sites for Zorin Os are forbiden to my country. Does anyone know an alternate site to get it? It would be very helpful Thanks.
no download reachable fron CUba. Does anyones knows an alternate site for downloading Zorin OS?
It really seems worth a try: a distro with well-integrated wine. The choice of Lxde as window manager is also interesting. I also used Lubuntu but has too frequent issues with compatibility so I gave up.

Maybe you can try using the www.ixquick.com search engine. Search for download zorin, and click the proxy at the search results. It's worth a try.
And, first before you search, in the start screen of ixquick, top right, click settings, scroll down, and enable ssl/https connections, to encrypt the data from your browser to ixquick servers...
I was going to have a look at zorin... Found out that only a core and educational version are free of charge, more complete versions require a creditcard...
That's it for Zorin... I would not know why to pay for Linux, most certainly not if it is just a variation of Ubuntu, which is totally free!
The core version of Zorin already has more in it than any Ubuntu distro, save for Ultimate Edition, so it's really all you need. Everything else is available thru Synaptic, which dosen't even come with Ubuntu. I exclusively use Zorin, after trying what seemed to be ALL the other Ubuntu clone distros, they all seemed lacking compared to Z.
Being stuck on the stone age comand line is why the rest of the work looks at linux as a hobby OS. You sound like you would be happy to load programs from Holerith cards too. Just being free does not make you competative.

Of course you can also install Synaptic using the Software Center, just saying.
By the way, did you know that newer versions of Windows have got a much more powerful command line, for those of us who prefer to have power over the system and not dependent of the whims of some GUI designers?

it is true, I am happy with the command line
synaptic is a GUI frontend, not command line, so I fail to see what *your* problem is.
Ok I'm trying it. I seems very nice. I've been using PClinuxOS for years because it has a lot more acess to hardware details and trouble shooting. I have not been able to find where to check hardware setting in Zorn but I've only been using it for a couple of days. For instance I still have not been able to identify the video board in this machine or wireless card or any hard ware details. Not that they're not working but if I did have a question I would be hard pressed to find out what they were. Nothing in system settings under hardware to brows hardware.
One program that comes with Zorn7 is the sound recorder. Which does not work and from reviews has stopped working since Ubuntu 13. I've tried tried Audacity and gremlin and a couple of others and still cannot record any thing that comes through the system. Because I'm not seeing the hardware/sound system I'm not sure what I should select for input and.... I'm trying to record some live streaming radio shows that I can not sit and listen to with out being interupted at work. I use FreeSoundRecorder in WinXP and it works great and alows me to set up a schedule to auto start/stop recording so I can listen to the show when I get home. I tried to install it under wine but it keeps locking up. It did inPClinuxOS also but I was hoping it would work here.
Anyway mabe in a couple of days I'll figure this out but it feels good with out too much eye candy.
