I had dowloaded the Zenwalk 7.0 installed CD a few days ago and tryed to install it in VMware.
It said I had to set up partitions in fdisk which I don't know how to use so I booted a GParted live CD so I could do the partitions.
I did the main partition and the swap partition and clicked apply.
Everything went well and the partitions were done.
But when I booted the Zenwalk CD it told me there were no partitions on the hard disk!

Does anyone know why it did this?
I've checked the partitions over and over but I don't see any problems.

It's a Slackware derivative and you answered your own question. Use fdisk.

So I'm stuck with fdisk which I have no idea how to use?

Also, may i suggest installing Zenwalk (or distro of your choice) to hard drive and Windows to VM?

I would install linux since windows XP is the worst OS I've ever used but I'd loose all my programs and stuff.

And VM's aren't powerful enough to run most of the stuff on this computer.
Although I am going to be installing Linux on my really old toshiba laptop and I am thinking about installing Fedora 15 on my Vista laptop.
Even though I have never had any problems with Vista.
