Windows Media Player on Unbuntu

Can this player be used in Ubuntu?

Hi,

Reason i asked was that when im trying to view video files online, one site i visit asks for Windows Media player thats all.

you can get codecs for mplayer that will let it play anything wmp can play and more. you could try to run it under wine but that would be a pain in the ass and mplayer does more anyway.

Windows Media Player 6.4 installs under Crossover Office so it should run under wine. As for WMP 10 I'm pretty sure it doesn't run under wine.
