Ubuntu won't boot after it tells me to remove install. disc to finish installation
I just booted from the amd64 ubuntu install disc, and went through the partitioning and installation. It told me to remove CD and restart to finish installing some more packages. However, when I did this, my motherboard reports "Error loading operating system". I tried everything again, and the same thing happened. I'm using a single SATA hard drive (no RAID), and I suspect this is the problem, but the partitioning tool saw the hard drive (said it was SCSI), and allowed me to write new partitions to it and everything, and it appeared to copy files during the installation. Does Ubuntu just have a problem with my mobo's SATA card perhaps? I am about a step and a half above a Linux newb in that I've installed and used plenty of distros fine, but this is the first time I've tried any distro with SATA.
