Ubuntu 19.04 upgrade now have to manually force it on the internet

I installed Ubuntu 19.04, now I have to click with my mouse to manually click "disconnect" then click "wired 1" to get it on the internet.

Any ideas why or how to have the system automatically connect on boot up?

Simple fix you need to create a new profile. Make sure user has netdevice in your groups.
Since this is a systmd issue at this point you are dealing with a binary and unable to tweak through scripts to fix real issue.
Wait till some one at that team rebuilds this and fixes the profile issue.

I only have one user account, me (named Michael).
It is set to automatically boot up without asking for a password.
So, what should I do, create another user account?

Did you go to Settings then Network and click the box that says " connect automatically" ?

You don’t need a new “profile”.

What are you manually disconnecting? WiFi?
