Recently on browsing Internet Ubuntu suddenly reboots frequently. This happened on both host and guest. Please advise where shall I check and how to fix the problem.
If the system itself (leaving out any VM) is constantly doing this, one thing to check is the capacitors on your motherboard. Bad capacitors can cause this kind of behavior. Please see here.
If you have a laptop, doing this is going to be a lot more involved so if you're not comfortable taking your laptop apart, you might want to take it in to a computer repair shop.

Hi,
Thanks for your advice.
This is a new box built about 2 months
Motherboard
sudo dmidecode | grep -A4 '^Base'
Code:
Base Board Information
Manufacturer: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.
Product Name: M5A97 LE R2.0
Version: Rev 1.xx
Serial Number: 141235722500456
AMD 8-core CPU
1TB SSD
32G RAM
I can't predict when this problem will happen. Sometime it worked for a whole day without problem. Another time the PC suddenly rebooted and happened twice in an hour.
The box is open. I have an external USB fan blowing on it. It only happened recently in about one week. I'll continue keeping eyes on this problem before contacting the ASUS agent.

In mechanical parts, as in automotive or ag equipment, most mechanics with experience will tell you that the word new stands for Never Ever Worked. While this is an exageration intended to be humorous it does contain a large core of truth.
New doesn't mean it actually is a good part.
I have no trouble with my Asus M5A9FX with a 6 core cpu by the way. Love the thing.
