Ubuntu 11.04 can't communicate with HP laserjet multifunction

Hi all!
Could you please help me in a printing&scanning issue about Ubuntu 11.04 and the HP laserjet M1132 MFP multifunction.

I did installed hplip and related Ubuntu packages (with checked repositories as adviced by Ubuntu) the printer does appear as to be installed but neither scanning nor printing is possible (including the test page) though cups seems to recognize the phisical device. Here is an abreviated troubleshoot report about printing failure (the full report is too long for forum requirements):
Code:
Page 1 (Scheduler not running?):
{'cups_connection_failure': False}
Page 2 (Is local server publishing?):

It appears you have the printer set up with A4 paper size, and are sending it English US, which is 8.5 x 11 inch paper size.

Make sure the printer default paper size matches the paper size your apps are sending. Look in cups to set the default paper size. That needs to match the paper size you are using, the paper.

Thanks for your hint! I did several modifications so as cups and printer papersize do agree but it was of no help: all attempts ended with the same failure message and troubleshoot report. Anyway your hint might yield the right solution. Thanks again!

Here is the answer: the HP multifunction M1132 MFP needs a certain plug-in whose last version is not updated to the last Linux distributions. For instance, the last version of that plug-in was merely designed to be installed on Ubuntu 9 and Fedora 11. So there is no choice but waiting for an update of the software.
