Ubuntu's DVD authoring program

I understand Ubuntu has (or had?) a DVD authoring program that can make audio_ts or video_ts files. Is this program available for any Debian distro in the repositories? What's it called? (My source, http://www.ehow.com/how_6929999_burn...es-ubuntu.html , didn't give a name that I could probably look up in the repos.) I suppose I could install Ubuntu if necessary, but I'd rather not.)

I would like to use this program because I had been ripping audio from the files in the audio_ts folder on some DVDs, but then the source who provides the DVDs changed their hardware and/or software to something that doesn't bother making the separate audio files. (I consulted the media technician who makes the DVDs, but he indicated that if the software wasn't making the audio_ts files anymore, there was nothing he could do.)

I believe that Ubuntu's DVD authoring program in 2010 (when that guide was written) was Brasero: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Brasero

Ubuntu provides no DVD playback capabilities "out-of-the-box." This must be installed by the user: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Re...ts/PlayingDVDs

If you want to be able to make DVDs from videos on your computer and burn them to a DVD to watch on a DVD player, then you can install devede:
http://www.devede.org/installation/
The devede package and it's dependencies are available from the Ubuntu repositories, so you do not need to download it from the devede site. I have used devede many times over the years and it works well.

There is another program available called Bombono DVD:
https://apps.ubuntu.com/cat/applicat...g/bombono-dvd/
I have not used this and I am unfamiliar with it. It is also available in the Ubutnu repositories should you wish to try it.
