The last check for updates was over a week ago

What has happened to this forum? I see only 44 postings!

When I get updates things appear normal until the end when I get a message saying the last check was over a week ago.

My system with Kubuntu gives this message, and my SO's Ubunutu says more than 10 days. Both started doing this a week or so back at the same time.

There are no problems or anomalies when using apt-get.

What's happening?

Jim

Second try.
The Muon Update Manager in Kubuntu 12.04 tells me updates are available. I click on "Install updates". The update appears to progress normally. I get the updates. At the end I get a message saying that the last check was over a week ago. Why?

In the past this forum has had many pages of postings. Now there is only one.

SO in this context is 'Significant Other, i.e. partner, wife, etc.' Her system is Ubuntu 12.04.
