Stopping ubuntu 12.0.4 update manager from recommending updates

Running Ubuntu 12.0.4 64-bit.

Update manager constantly offers to install gwibber and related files. How can I block certain update suggestions? I don't want gwibber, and am tired of manually deselecting those files.

Try:
sudo apt-get purge gwibber-service-facebook

Ah, I did a remove and purge of gwibber, but not gwibber-service-facebook. Will try that. THanks.
