Screen Resolution 400 X 600 after boot

I intalled dapper about a week ago and had to run "sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-org to reset the resolution. But rinstalled dapper today with another partition scheme. But when I ran dpkg ***, the prompt said that xserver-org was not installed. How can it not be installed? What now?

Are you sure it is not "xserver-xorg"?

Try this:
Code:
sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude install ubuntu-desktop
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart

The possibility of consistent spelling slips like this (and that's "you're" not "your" in there) are part of why we like to see cut-and-paste-ups of what you've done rather than paraphrases of what you've done.

Don't worry, we all do it sometime. These slips are hard for the person who makes them to spot but a casual observer picks it up right away.
