recompile php5 with mysql support

After updating to php5 the mysql module is not enabled, though installed. How do I recompile it using the tools provided by Ubuntu?

Thanks!

It seems that the php5-gd module is not active either, though installed... I removed php4, then installed php5, then added gd & msql...
