LXer's document sets up installation that goes out to the internet for the distribution files. I've got a CentOS server providing the distribution files for Fedora, OpenSuSe, and Ubuntu. The DHCPd and configuration files are on the CentOS server, and I have a menu displayed for which distribution I wish to install. Fedora 9 works fine, as for Ubuntu 8 it starts the installation and gets its ip, checks hardware and then fails looking for the mirror. The client is on an isolated lan 192.168.0 subnet because I can't provide dhcp from the CentOS to the corporate network(the domain people would have a fit
) I setup the preseed file to point to the CentOS server but somehow it still wants to go to the us-mirror website. I can think of 3 options: 1 - create an internal mirror 2 - Find where to force the startup to go only to the CentOS server 3 - provide some kind of configuration during installation to have the client go through the CentOS server -> through the proxy server -> internet mirror.
My preseed file:
d-i mirror/http/hostname string 192.168.0.222 (CentOS IP)
d-i mirror/http/directory string /tftpboot/pub/ubuntu8_04_1_i386/dists
d-i mirror/http/proxy string
d-i mirror/suite string hardy
Any help with any of these options, or other suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
