Question pulse audio


Hi all,

in my office there are a lot of ubuntu hardy machines, but in some machines we won't are not able to hear mp3s unless we kill the pulse audio process, but in some machines there is no need for this ?

why is this so ?

There may be some problem with the alsa backend... or it can be something else
