Prospective Change
I have heard nothing but good things about this program. Problem is that it does not play multimedia codecs all that well... or at all. So poking around the net I found the ubuntu guide. And it told me what to do to get codecs. My question is will these codecs be the same codecs as the ones on MPlayers site, you know the all the codecs you will ever need section?
Also ubuntu guide is the same for kubuntu too right? I am going to get Kubuntu cause I prefer KDE. Anyway thanks for any help

Yeah the guide also works for KDE. The codecs listed I think are the same as from Mplayers site, with a bunch of other one (wma playback, etc.).

Well I figured out my mistake. But now I have other problems that I think are not related.

When you want the goodies to work in Ubuntu...
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats
Install fresh, go there. Done.
And, thanks to the latest Flash, even flash files work fine in web browsers for us linux users with SYNCHRONIZED audio/video!!! *happy dance*
If you have issues, ask. We might even have answers.
Cheers,
Lord Ghost
