Program in Ubuntu Linux to incorporate subtitles

Hello Colleagues;

I am looking for a program that allows to incorporate subtitles in AVI files. In Windows there is one that does exactly what I need, AVIAddXSubs (http://www.calcitapp.com/AVIAddXSubs.php).
Unfortunately, I haven´t found a version for Linux. Is there another program in Lunux that can do the same as AVIAddXsubs??

I don't know about another application, but have you tried running AVIAddXSubs in WINE? I've seen mention that it runs well in WINE.
