Problems with gutsy and 32 bit programs

Hi all,

since I installed gutsy 64 bit, I cannot run any executable compiled for 32 bit. I tries firefox, some command line tools, the java development suite and so on.
The 64 bit java suite runs well, like all other 32 bit executables, the 32 bit java suite returns "no such file or directory" if executed from bash.

All these programs worked with feisty 32 bit. Does anyone know, what I can do to get my programs working again?

Thanks a lot,
Clemente

hi,

it is a sempron 3000+.

found the solution here:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=2559650
basically, the alternate installer does not install all libraries necessary to run 32 bit execs. i installed them with
Code:
sudo apt-get install ia32-libs lsb-core
Thanks a lot,
Clemente
