Problems with Amarok 1.4
Hi!!
I have recently upgraded my Ubuntu dapper to Edgy eft. I tried to install Amarok1.4, but it asks for mp3 support installation every single time I try to play some mp3s. I tried installing mp3 support, but it does not help at all. I see the same message popping up every time. Can anyone help??
Thanks in advance,
cheers,
Ravi

How did you install mp3 support? Did you do something like
Code:
sudo apt-get install gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly libxine-extracodecs

Well, could you check in "Configure Amarok" if the audio output (something like that, I don't have it in english) is set to an output engine that supports mp3?

I have one Ubuntu 6.06 machine with Amarok 1.3.9 (without mp3 support). I tried using the obove apt-get command and Amarok could play mp3 without making anymore changes.
If you are not really addicted to Amarok, I would suggest you to try installing xmms for the time being while continuing troubleshooting with Amarok.

Other players
Hi,
All other mp3 players work just fine. But only Amarok does nt work.
And I am a big fan of amarok. I am using xmms right now. I am trying to find out what exactly the problem with amarok is.
Thanks.
