php compile errors


I have received the following error while I compile php 5.3.10.

configure: error: Cannot find imap library (libc-client.a). Please check your c-client installation


Could not find this library

locate libc-client.a

any idea??

Packages providing 'libc-client.a' , examples :

Fedora, CentOS 6 : uw-imap-static
CentOS 5 : libc-client-devel
Debian, Ubuntu : libc-client2007e-dev

Thanks for your reply... I have located libc-client2007e-dev but not found.

root@server:~# apt-get install libc-client2007e-dev
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done

distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

libc-client2007e-dev : Depends: libpam0g-dev but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages


root@server:~# apt-get install libpam0g-dev
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libpam0g-dev : Depends: libpam0g (= 1.1.1-2ubuntu5.6) but 1.1.2-2ubuntu8.4 is to be installed
E: Broken packages

The install command is : apt-get update && apt-get install libc-client2007e-dev

If the above isn't working, please tell which Ubuntu version it is about :

$ cat /etc/issue <Enter>

Thanks for your reply... We had multiple issues with our production server, so we were postpone this php upgrade temporary.
