Linux Peppermint ongoing support

Sorry !!!

I know this is a Ubuntu forum however this was probably the closest to Linux Peppermint i could think of and was hoping one of you may be able to help me.

I just downloaded Peppermint 3, burnt it to ISO and then installed it, however after only a few hours i went back to Peppermint 2. Does anyone know if Peppermint 2 will have ongoing support(security) since Peppermint 3 has now be introudced.

I looked for a Peppermint forum however they dont have one, i've tried tweeting a few users and Peppermints actual twitter account but so far no replies. Was just hoping someone might be familiar with distrubution.

Thanks for your time.
