Kubuntu 7.04 Problem Installing Firefox

*I cannot apply changes when I try to install firefox from adept since it (apply changes button)is grayed out.

Error:

You will not be able to change your system settings in any way (install, remove or upgrade software) because another process is using the packaging system database (probably some other Adept application, apt-get or aptitude). Please close the other application before using this one.

*I'm sure I'm not running any other apt or adept

Your adept-notifier icon isn't searching for updates?

Try running '$sudo apt-get install firefox' from a terminal window.

Can you close Adept and then try pasting these commands into the terminal?

sudo killall dpkg
sudo apt-get update
