[SOLVED] Kernel 4.4.21 Question

Kernel 4.4.21 LTS just came out. This may (possibly) resolve a regression I have been experiencing that has kept me from using Ubuntu 16.04.1 (believed to be a i915 driver issue). My question is: if I install the OS again and choose the option to download updates while installing, will it automatically update the kernel to 4.4.21 so I can find out?

No, it won't.
You will have to wait until Ubuntu packages the updates and releases a kernel update with them.

Thanks. How would I know it was time? (I'm using another distro now with an older kernel that allows me to see my screen.)
