Is there a "How to" on using an Overhead Projector with Ubuntu

I'm using a Dell 8100 laptop which has NVidia Geforce2 Go graphics and has an normal port for an external monitor.

If I want to use an OHP with the laptop for presentation etc, would I need to setup twinview, or would the OHP duplicate whatever was being shown on the laptop screen?

Before I changed over to Linux I used Windows XP and that would automatically duplicate whatever was on the laptop screen without any configuration changes.

Initially I'd just want to do something similar and duplicate the laptop screen on the OHP, but possibly at some point in the future I'd be interested in trying to use Twinview to have one thing on the laptop screen and a presentation on the OHP. From what I've seen, it sounds as though it'd be a basic capeability of Linux, NVidia & Twinview (effectively, its just a 2nd monitor).

Thanks in advance.

Well, my own experience of using an Ubuntu laptop was: Plug the OHP into the monitor socket, and everything works.

Thanks for that. I'll have to give it a try.

The main concern I had in trying that was that I run the laptop at 1600x1200, but the OHP only goes up to 1024x768, so I thought there could have been some conflict/problem with the display on the OHP.

I suppose the obvious thing for me to try is to lower the laptop resolution to one that the OHP can cope with and try that, and then try it at 1600x1200 just as an experiment.
