internet not working after upgrade

hi i'm running breezy for quite a while now... only i didn't update for a while ( as recommended).

A couple of days ago i did and now my internet connection has broken down.

Activation of eth0 at startup takes a very long time and the it just fails.
X is broken so it all has to be done in console.

I tried a "sudo dhclient eth0" but this is the output

Any ideas on getting it back up ?

can you ping yourself/127.0.0.1? can u verify the port on your router that it is using can connect to the internet/or other computers on the network have a connection? does lsmod show your correct driver loaded for the nic? check your services and see if a network one is down that shouldnt be.
sorry, just throwing ideas to troubleshoot.

you could pipe the output to less
Code:
lsmod | less

i got my internet connection working by installing and running pump, only that is a temporary sollution

there msut be something wrong with the dhcp3-client, i thought it got updated during one of the last updates so the cause may be there.
