Installation problem with Hardy(initramfs)
With the live cd, I was able to both boot Hardy and also to use the installation menu on Windows(didn;'t finish because it was not clear what it was going to partition)
Now, I installed a new SATA disk and am trying to install Hardy on it.
(I already have a dual boot Slack-Suse on the machine-no Windows of course)
The problem is I can neither boot to Hardy, nor to any sort of installation menu. Instead I get a screen saying :BusyBox v1.1.3(DEbian 1.1.13....)
and a line
initramfs(106.97.5417]
ats2:SRST failed(errno=-16)
md5sum checks
Any idea what this is about?
I get a linux shell, but not much in terms of installation
My guess is that CDs are 700 M and Hardy just does not fit in a single CD. This is reinforced by
1): the fact that there is a file "Ubuntu" on the CD of 0 bytes
(there are also files README.diskdefines, umenu.exe, wubi.exe, autorun and md5sum as well as folders .disk, casper, dists, install, isolinux pics, pool and preseed)
2) that the CD is 100% full(699MB but 733079552 bytes)
I mean if that is the case, shouldn't there be a warning that one needs to burn a dvd?
