Angry i think i am losing my mind....help with an ubuntu install please


ok i have ubuntu 64 bit installed on one of my partitions of my computer

i am going to try 32 bit on another partition

i have run across one problem

i have run out of cds to burn the iso onto

now i know i have seen some where that you can install fomr the iso image being on the hard drive but i can not remeber how to do it or where it was that i saw it

if any of you know how to do this or know where the link is that can tell me how to do this it would be greatly appriciated (before i rip my hair out)

If you already have a linux installed, one solution is to mount that image on your harddisk and access all files contained in the ISO file.

mount -o loop -t iso9660 ubuntu.iso /mnt/isoimage/ , this is an example of mounting it and need to create the mount point in the directory /mnt.

Of course it depends if the loop device is in your current kernel.

If you don't have a current linux installed, you may can find a third party program for Windows to access the iso file. Try google for locating one.
