Just in case sumone might ask again... heres what I found out dat u do:
Building from source
If there is no binary package listed for your distribution, you can still download the Kiba source and build it yourself.
[edit]
Dependencies
Please note that package names vary from distribution to distribution. If you know the exact names of a certain distribution's packages, please add them to the section for that distribution. Also, please note that this list is not exhaustive - there may be more dependencies then are listed here. If you have spotted a missing dependency or an incorrect version number, please fix it.
[edit]
Build dependencies
You need subversion to download the kiba source tree.
You need the following to build the Akamaru physics engine:
* automake
* autoconf
* gcc
* libtool
* intltool >= 0.35.0
* gettext
You need the following to build kiba-dock itself:
* glib2 >= 2.12
* gtk+2 >= 2.10
* cairo >= 1.0.0
* libxml-2.0
* pango >= 1.10.0
* Optional depends:
o librsvg > 2.14.4 (for SVG support)
o glitz >= 0.5.3
o akamaru (for physics)
You will need the following to build various kiba-plugins:
* Dbus plugin
o dbus
o pygtk2-devel (to build the actual Dbus plugins, located in the kiba-dbus-plugins directory)
* Gmenu plugin
o libgnome-menu
* Stack plugin
o libgnomeui-2.0 > 2.0.0
o libgnomevfs > 2.0.0
* Sysinfo plugin
o libgtop > 2.0.0
* Trash plugin
o libgnomevfs > 2.0.0
[edit]
Runtime dependencies
To run, Kiba-dock requires:
* X.org (>= 7.2) with Composite Extension enabled
* A composite window manager (eg - beryl, compiz, comiz-fusion, kcompmgr, xcompmgr)
* For (optional) SVG support: cairo compiled with --enable-svg
* For (optional) GLITZ support: cairo compiled with --enable-glitz

Obtaining the source
To get the full kiba source tree, type this into a terminal: svn co
https://kibadock.svn.sourceforge.net...ibadock/trunk/ kiba
If for some reason you only want to get one part of the tree, you can use the following commands:
* $ svn co
https://kibadock.svn.sourceforge.net...trunk/akamaru/ akamaru
* $ svn co
https://kibadock.svn.sourceforge.net...unk/kiba-dock/ kiba-dock
* $ svn co
https://kibadock.svn.sourceforge.net.../kiba-plugins/ kiba-plugins
* $ svn co
https://kibadock.svn.sourceforge.net...-dbus-plugins/ kiba-dbus-plugins
* $ svn co
https://kibadock.svn.sourceforge.net...ba-gaim-plugin kiba-gaim-plugin
* $ svn co
https://kibadock.svn.sourceforge.net...ephy-extension kiba-ephy-extension
If you want to update the tree, go the the "kiba" directory and type: $ svn up
Note that you may be asked to accept a security certificate.
[edit]
Compiling the source
Start with the Akamaru engine. Run the following commands in the "akamaru" directory:
* $ ./autogen.sh
* $ make
* # make install
Note that make install must be run as root. You can use sudo or su to gain the proper privelages.
Next, in the "kiba-dock" directory, run the same commands:
* $ ./autogen.sh
* $ make
* # make install
Now go to the other directories and run the same commands. When you are done, run kiba-dock in a terminal to start the program.

Install scripts
Members of the Kiba community have put together scripts that automate the Kiba download and install process.
There are currently two known scripts.
[edit]
bobchecha's script
This script will let you install / upgrade / remove any of Kiba's components (akamaru, kiba-plugins, etc.) You can choose which component(s) to install / upgrade / remove. This script should work on any distribution (the author requests your feedback so he can make it completely distribution independent). Be aware: this script will not download dependencies for you!
To download the script and find usage information, go to this forum topic:
http://www.kiba-dock.org/index.php?o...30&topic=274.0
You can also post feedback on the script here. However, before posting, make sure the problem does not lie with your system by trying the same operation manually. If you post a problem that is not related to the script, your post will likely be deleted.
