Question Help with top panel[Gnome Classic] Ubuntu 11.04

I created a small png file of a phone # intending to put in on the desktop for quick acesses. After I put it there I decided to drag it to the top panel instead, thinking it would be placed as an icon. Instead, the png was stretched across the whole width of the panel. There is no "undo" key. This ruins the entire panel and I have the default icons on the right side that are difficult to put back if I remove the entire panel and start over Help!
Thanks,
Paul

You should get a menu if you right click on it. One option should be "remove from panel".

That didn't work. The Icon or png was spread all over the panel anwas transparent except where the text was. The text was stretched so thin I couldn't click on it. I solved it though by deleteing the panel and reconstructing it from "Add to Panel".
Thanks for your suggestion.
