Help!! chown oss, and now I have NOT sound at all in Ubuntu Edgy

Hello my friends....

I'm using Ubuntu 6.10
I was trying to get the sound in Enemy Territory, so I typed:

sudo killall esd
chown user:user /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss
sudo echo "et.x86 0 0 direct" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss
et +set fs_game tcetest
esd
exit

And now I don't get ANY sound in Ubuntu.....

I have never used the command chown, do you know any way so I can get the sound back....

I think I changed the owner....

Thanks

Fabricio

Oops, PCM in Volme-Control was muted. I had overlooked it. Sorry for wasting a thread.
