I've been using gxine to play dvds in Ubuntu because Totem won't do... well, anything. It works decently, but I can only pause the dvd exactly once each time I open the program. If I pause a second time, it freezes at unpause. At first, the video will continue while the audio doesn't, then the window will go dark and I have to force quit.
If I run gxine in a terminal, this is the output I get (before I open the dvd)--

And this is the output the terminal gives when I open a dvd (in this particular case it's a dvd of "The Office," though I'm pretty sure that makes no difference)--

Sorry if that was annoyingly long.
There is no output in the terminal when it freezes, except for "Killed" after I kill it.
I know that dvd playback in Linux is somewhat of a crap shoot, but is there any trick to get the freezing to stop?
Thanks,
