Grub Error 17

I attempted a bios update for my windows 7 partition and upon reboot received a grub error 17. Before the bois update, grub was working fine. I have windows and ubuntu 9.04 installed on two seperate hdds.

I've tried reinstalling grub which didn't work.

Here is the result of Boot Info Script, hopefully all the relevant info. Any help greatly appreciated! I'm trying to learn linux as I fumble my way through school.

Code:
============================= Boot Info Summary: ==============================

=> Grub0.97 is installed in the MBR of /dev/sda and looks on boot drive #2 in
    partition #1 for /boot/grub/stage2 and /boot/grub/menu.lst.
=> Grub0.97 is installed in the MBR of /dev/sdb and looks on boot drive #3 in
    partition #1 for /boot/grub/stage2 and /boot/grub/menu.lst.
=> Grub0.97 is installed in the MBR of /dev/sdc and looks on boot drive #2 in
    partition #1 for /boot/grub/stage2 and /boot/grub/menu.lst.

Grub0.97 is installed in the MBR of /dev/sdb and looks on boot drive #3 in partition #1 for /boot/grub/stage2 and /boot/grub/menu.lst.
That's your Ubuntu/Linux partiiton with thr menu.lst and stage2 files. The other mbr entries point to ntfs partition for these files which are not there. Set sdb as first boot priority in BIOS and it should work.

If not, use sda as first boot and re-install Grub:

grub prompt: grub>root (hd2,0)
setup (hd0)
quit

Thanks much! Messing around with the boot order fixed it. So, when i updated the BIOS, that changes the boot order of the hdds?

I had tried everyone elses approach on a multitude of different forums and sites, this is the one that fixed grub/mbr..

the way it had been setup was

hd0,1 was windows
hd0,4 was ubuntu studio
hd0,5 was ubuntu desktop

the reason it had messed up, well...

I had installed "PARTITION MAGIC 8" on the windows drive, and for whatever flippin reason it decided my mbr was messed up so when i rebooted it came up with error 17.

so... note to self: NEVER USE PARTITION MAGIC ON A DUAL/TRIO BOOT MACHINE

its a good tool if your using ONLY windows, but as i've learned tonight, its complete garbage when it comes to using grub/linux

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, you saved me a big headache.
I registered in this forum literally just to say that.

one again... THANK YOU
