Curious what this super user file is

I installed an app called luckyBackup.
I'm curious what this super user file of it is that shows up - it gives an error if I select it.

Probably tries to launch luckyBackup and gain super user privileges.

Are you using Wayland? Some GUI applications can run as root under X11, but cannot under Wayland (see this thread).

Yes, as above, it will launch luckyBackup with root user rights - but you'd likely need to enter the password for root though.

You can always look in the relevant .desktop file for the GUI shortcut in question to see what command(s) it executes.

I'm using Unity on 20.04 lts

It asks for a password, but after one is entered, it gives an error and I'm asked to report the problem to Ubuntu

Try the password for your normal unprivileged user account instead.

@Michael Piziak,

I should clarify what I said posts #3 and #5 about the root user password; the root user account is disabled by default in Ubuntu and other Ubuntu-based distributions. So unless you've enabled the root user account, then you will need to use your normal unprivileged user account's password instead, regardless of whether you're using the graphical environment or the command-line. All operating system related files will still be owned by the root user account, but once again, the root user account itself is disabled unless you enable it (which you can). Sorry I wasn't clear about that before.

At the end of the day, luckyBackup is just a GUI frontend for rsync that uses the Qt libraries. You can read more about it here, you should also have a look at it's website here as well.
