compiling apt from source

Hey folks,

I'd like to compile apt from source, however I'm having a heck of a time finding a tarball or any sort of source for it.

Could anyone point me to a site where I can download the apt source?

Try "apt-get source apt" - this should download the latest available apt source and put it in the current directory.
