Check writing software

I use VersaCheck to write and print checks in Windows. Does anyone know of similar software for Linux-Ubuntu? TIA.

I'm not familiar with VersaCheck, but compare it against the features in GNUCash and tell us whether the latter will work for you.

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply. I'm including a link to VersaCheck so you can see what it does. VersaCheck is check writing software and not accounting software. It looks like, for the time being, I'll still need to use Windows for check writing.

VersaCheck

I too use VersaCheck. Have been for over 20 years. Really don't want to loose all that data. Nor do I want to build it from scratch. I tried to setup GNUCash to write checks but could not get it to print checks like VersaCheck. Will try to use Wine to see if it will run VersaCheck. If it works, I will post back.

This is a help thread that you started.

There are many of us here that not only are not familiar with a Windows check writing application but are not really that familiar with Windows. And have no desire to be familiar with either.

You have a good link for GnuCash. Check it out. There are even great printed books for the use of GnuCash. I don't use it myself. My wife is a book keeper. She is not familiar with either Windows or its applications either. GnuCash is the application she uses for all of her work.

I am pretty sure she would be totally disgusted with VersaCheck because it would not print checks the way GnuCash does it.

Gnu/Linux distros are not Windows. If you want something exactly like Windows I highly recommend using Windows. If you want something like Gnu/Linux you should brace yourself to have to do some learning. Just those of us that do not use Windows would have to if we were to switch to it.

GnuCash is a full featured book keeping application that does just about anything you could dream up to use it for, at least in diverse small business's.

All common check stock is supported.
