If nUbuntu is compatible with Ubuntu, i.e. you can safely install either one's .deb binary packages to another one withtout problems, then you could just use apt with Ubuntu's reposities, along with the "download only" option (see:
man apt-get) to get the deb files (or just install right away without the option).
If you were having problems with kismet or some other apps, you should be more specific about what the real problem is (i.e. error messages etc.). Did you try to install the deb files using
dpkg or using
apt-get install?
