Booting 8.10 with 2.6.27-8-eeepc Kernel

I just installed Ubuntu 8.10 on my Asus Eee PC 900HA netbook, but it hangs when booting the 2.6.27-8-eeepc kernel. It works fine when I boot with the 2.6.27-7 generic kernel. Has anyone else had this problem? Thank you.

Edit: Now even the generic kernel won't load, it gets stuck on the progress bar. I tried booting in recovery mode, but it freezes too.

Its a known kernel bug, and not just Ubuntu, and has already been answered here.

Boot with this kernel parameter:

hpet=disable

The command stands for "High Precesion Event Timer".

This bug applies to all 2.6.27 kernels.

Thank you, but unfortunately I edited the boot options, and Ubuntu is still not booting. It got through the progress bar, then after that the screen goes blank.
