Question Asus P5KPL-CM


Hi all,

can any one write a howto on how to update the bios in Asus P5KPL-CM motherboard,in ubuntu, i mean is there any specific tools for doing that, as it is in winXP...????

Suppose you have downloaded the bios file and kept it in /dev/sda1 or a floppy.

the manufacturer must have given you an install utility too (dos executable).
Make a freedos bootable disk and do it or use the live freedos cd.

If it is a win32 executable, then it may be a .rar or .cab file. Assume that it is and extract the bios file with Ark.

That is interesting. Many manufacturers do not provide a proper bios file for many of their boards. E.g. MSI...one has to ask them for the latest raw bios image.
