Question After formatting partition NTFS can't write to ext2

Hello
I'm in a dual boot situation,W2k and Kubuntu 8. I have a 250GB disk partitioned as follows:
1. Ntfs contains W2k
2. ext2 contains Kubuntu
3. swap
4. NTFS for data storage.

I didn't partition4 until I had everything up and working. I quit KKubuntu and then used gparted on boot disc and formatted 4. Then went into windows did some things and booted into Kubuntu. X worked fine, logged in. Then I find I can't write to Kubuntu partition. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Dan

When you log in under X it is going to either write a log file or it will go back to the login menu. That suggests that the Kubuntu partition is writable.

Exactly why do you think that you can't write to the Kubuntu partition? Did you try to create a file? If so then exactly how did you do that and what error message did you see, if any?
