Question Is it possible to write to a ntfs partition?

Hi! I'm new to Linux, and love the product.

My question is: Is it possible to mount an NTFS drive and be able to write to it?

Here it goes... I have a Linux Live CD which I use to boot "non-operational" windows 2000 systems.
I need to be able to write from hda1 to hda2 and vice versa. (hda1=NTFS & hda2=FAT32)

I don't have an issue writing to the hda2(FAT32) but I get permission denied when I write to hda1(ntfs).

Any help would be appreciated....

NTFS support in Linux has always been sketchy at best. It's possible with some of the newer kernel versions to write to it, but I think it's only being recognized as really being supported before 2.6 - which isn't officially out yet...
I'm not familiar with Linux Live - I've used other bootable cd's, but not that one.

This is great.
I will look for a newer kernel. I'm currently running 2.4.18.

Thanks!
