18.04 lts looks different on desktop but not laptop

Ubuntu 18.04 lts looks the same as 16.04 lts on my laptop; however, on my desktop, 18.04 lts has an undesirable look and feel to me.

There are several things I don't like about 18.04 on the desktop. Is there a way to make the desktop look and feel like 16.04 lts again?

You appear to be describing the desktop environment. Ubuntu can have any number of desktop environments. It would appear from your description that your laptop is running the "Unity" desktop environment still (which was the default with 16.04). Your desktop I am guessing is running the default "Gnome" environment. It is possible to run 18.04 with Unity Desktop environment. You will be able to search to find out how to do this.

Thank you.
Marked as solved.
