This is a classic example of putting the blame ENTIRELY in the wrong place. This clown bought a card that doesn't work with Linux, and somehow, it is the fault of Linux instead of the clueless morons who distribute a card without a Linux driver.

The ONLY way the wireless mess gets solved is when Linux users stop using price as the sole decision point for buying and start using Linux compatibility as the deal-maker/breaker. Linux users have significant influence far beyond their actual numbers. I know I've got several people who don't buy hardware without talking to me, and you can bet that the stuff I'm suggesting they buy is Linux compatible.

Even when they aren't using Linux!
