ISVs desiring to distribute their applications in an appliance form factor are driving the creation of new JeOS Linux Distros such as Ubuntu JeOS and rPath Linux. Others are building their own JeOS-type Linux distros from Red Hat, SuSE and other Linux vendors. This "roll your own" approach can lead to challenges for both the vendor and potential customers.
