Accidental monopolist my left foot. There is FAR too many examples of Microsoft actively crushing competition, both real and perceived.

Um, they never were a nimble competitor. Great vast swaths of their competitive stance came from buying innovative companies. Heck, Microsoft almost missed the Internet completely! The only thing they have been good at is pushing their stuff (however good or bad it was) into every corner of computing.

The only thing that reads true in this is that Microsoft is a huge dysfunctional company lead by executives who only care about their own personal power base.
