Many big names in the storage industry have been jumping on the Ceph train. Any why shouldn’t they? It does it all. Well, almost. Originally developed by Inktank and later acquired by Red Hat, Ceph is a software-defined scale-out data storage solution. It supports Object, Block, and File storage. It also exposes a RESTful API that supports both OpenStack and Amazon S3. What is there to not like about it?
