Yast doesn't seem to sort out my passphrase correctly

Hi Guys,

I've installed SUSE 10.1 and am having problems configuring my wireless card properly.

So far I've found that it works to an extent, I've got a Wanadoo Livebox which is nice when it works, but when I use yast to configure the card(ndiswrapper etc installed) it wont connect unless I turn off security on my livebox.

When security is on yast goes through the process of setting up the card, I select WEP open as my security and insert the passphrase that I have configured in my livebox for example lets say its
Code:
DCBADCBADCBADCBADCBADCBADC
, the livebox insists on it being 26 chars in length.

When I click next suse does its stuff but then the network isn't connected.
If I type
Code:
iwconfig wlan0 key "DCBADCBADCBADCBADCBADCBADC"
and
Code:
dhcpcd wlan0
then suddenly everything sparks into life..

Any clue as to why yast doesn't seem to be sending the correct key to the livebox? I enter the same key in Windows XP and it works fine!!

Thanks

Tom

I did a little google of this box and found most of it french. What i did see was a little all over the place. Problems with its WEP connectivity, but then another saying use WEP as WPA was screwy. (and this in windows) So go figure?

not knowing this box, i ask; with the passphrase, you have optins passphr. aschii and HEX, have you tried the phrase with any of the other options ticked? and have you tried it with wpa?

is dhcpd running before you type dhcpd wlan0.

Yeah I've tried it with different options selected all it says is that the keylength is invalid. I did get it to connect once using NetworkManager but then it went back to not working. I've tried both WEP shared and open and WPA but neither work.
