Which version of JAVA to use?

SUSE 10.2 comes with two versions of JAVA: 1.4.2 sun, and 1.5.0 sun. I only need JAVA for use in Web applets on Web pages in Epiphany. Which version do I choose? I am most conserned about stability. I am not sure why two are provided.

people need multiple java versions because some applications are not backward (or forward) compatible and are closely tied to the dependent java version.
If 1.5 works for your application, keep it.
If you most concerned about stability, keep both

cheers
