Where/How HPFS module?

SUSE 10.0 here.
The list of active file systems shows HPFS as "nodev".

Where is the HPFS module?

And, how do I activate/load/turn on said HPFS module, so that my HPFS partitions get mounted and I can at least READ the files in those partitions?

By the way, there's other file systems listed as "nodev" which shouldn't be . . . what gives?

cheers!

try 'modprobe hpfs'
also post the output 'cat /etc/fstab'.. you probably have the partitions setup with the nodev option.

heres a snip from 'man mount'
Code:
nodev Do not interpret character or block special devices on
		     the file system.
