USB Cable modem setup

Hi,

I installed SuSE 9.2 and all went wonderful but my network setup.
I have a cable modem that can be connected to the computer via USB or a network card. I want to connect it via USB. I know that I can easily setup my network if I use my network card connected to the cable modem but I don't want to do that.

I tried to configure my network with Yast and the option of the modem (which is recognized) are just for dialing my ISP provider wich is not what I want. I just need a driver to the modem (CDCEther I think) and DHCP will take care of the rest.

Doesn't SuSE support this setup? This is trivial in distributions like Yoper or Fedora.
